In August, INGIABIO successfully obtained GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for their rare steviol glycoside, Rebaudioside I (Reb I), under GRN001178. Currently, only three companies worldwide have received GRAS approval for this ingredient, with INGIABIO being the only Chinese natural sweetener manufacturer among them. In 2019, INGIABIO had already received GRAS approval for Rebaudioside D and Rebaudioside M. The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) has approved over 60 steviol glycosides, including Rebaudiosides D, I, and M.
