INGIABIO RebI successfully obtained FDA GRAS

In August, INGIABIO successfully obtained GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for their rare steviol glycoside, Rebaudioside I (Reb I), under GRN001178. Currently, only three companies worldwide have received GRAS approval for this ingredient, with INGIABIO being the only Chinese natural sweetener manufacturer among them. In 2019, INGIABIO had already received GRAS approval for Rebaudioside D and Rebaudioside M. The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) has approved over 60 steviol glycosides, including Rebaudiosides D, I, and M.

As global consumer demand for "zero sugar" and "reduced sugar" products continues to grow, the shift "plant-based" products is gaining traction. This presents a significant market opportunity for the bio-manufacturing of natural sweeteners, natural high intensity sweeteners, bio-manufacturing offers limitless possibilities for more “natural sweet”

The recent FDA GRAS approval shows INGIABIO’s strong R&D capabilities and leading technological expertise in the natural sweetener industry. In the future, the company will consistently introduce green, healthy, and functional products, contributing to the growth of the global health industry.
